Offshore and marine heat exchangers
Marine and offshore
DBM has been operating in the marine sector since 1986. Over the years, we have manufactured tens of thousands of heat exchangers installed on the world’s largest cruise ships, numerous commercial vessels, and prestigious large private yachts.
Our expertise has gradually expanded to the offshore sector, which requires extremely high standards in quality, regulation, and safety, as well as strict requirements for technical documentation, materials, construction methods, and testing procedures.
Reliability is the cornerstone of every DBM project for these applications: we know that even a minor flaw can lead to operational delays or plant downtime, with very high management costs. For this reason, the quality of design, materials, and controls is ensured at every stage of the production process, from initial engineering to final verification.
Tailored thermal control solutions for every application
Marine and offshore environments are extremely challenging in terms of corrosion. For this reason, we design and build a wide range of custom heat exchangers for naval and offshore applications, using copper, tinned copper, cupronickel, and titanium, with configurations optimized to ensure long operational life, maximum thermal efficiency, and minimal maintenance over time.
Special anti-corrosion treatments, protective coatings, and dedicated marine accessories are also available to ensure reliable operation even in highly saline atmospheres.
DBM: high-performance heat exchangers for Marine & offshore
DBM supports the naval and offshore sector with heat exchangers designed to guarantee reliability and performance under critical operating conditions. We produce exchangers compliant with EN 13941-1:2023 and solutions that can be assembled directly onboard, ideal for retrofits and installations in confined spaces. We also provide:
Condensers for packaged units
Heat exchangers for engine room cooling
Double-tube safety configurations for cooling electric motors, generators, and electronic equipment
Air handling exchangers for engine and turbine combustion air
Custom solutions developed for specific onboard processes or plants
Finned-tube heat exchangers
Tubular heat exchangers
Double-tube safety heat exchangers
Quality and performance for every requirement
Design, construction, and testing can be verified and validated by inspection bodies belonging to IACS (International Association of Classification Societies), ensuring compliance with international naval and offshore standards.
DBM is also approved by Bureau Veritas (BV) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) for multiple product categories. In addition to non-destructive testing (NDT), Positive Material Identification (PMI) checks are performed on base materials and welds, ensuring full traceability and metallurgical verification.
